This person will interface with executives and management, members, visitors, and vendors. Essential Functions
- Perform routine member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, Western Unions, Visa gift cards, traveler’s checks, and money orders.
- Receive share deposits, Visa payments, principal only payments, mortgage payments, installment, and share secured loans, ensuring that payments equal the amount due and that all late charges, if applicable, are collected and entered into in-house computer system.
- Provide members with the forms necessary to transact business and proper receipts for payments.
- Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability. Process international check items.
- Provide routine information on Credit Union products or services, including eligibility for membership, types of Credit Union accounts, current dividend rates, locations, office hours, and telephone numbers. Provide members with account status, including current balances & loan pay-offs.
- Respond to members' requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
- Receive various information pertaining to member accounts, and route to proper department for processing.
- Produce and cash cashier’s checks.
- Process phone transactions.
- Maintain and balance teller drawer.
- Complete Currency Transaction Report and Suspicious Activity Report.
Additional Functions
- Assist in ATM and CDM replenishment
- Maintain ATM & CDM combinations
- Encode and close out checks for shipments to Federal Reserve
- Assist with verification of cash from Federal Reserve.
- Assist in maintenance of coin counter
- Perform greeter duties as necessary.
Job Specifications
- Requires completion of high school education, plus appropriate specialized training.
- Requires intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving percentages, fractions, decimals, etc.).
- Requires at least six months of related experience (i.e. Cash handling, customer service, etc.). Requires professional, well-developed interpersonal and teamwork skills necessary for communicating with members, visitors, callers and co-workers.
- Requires typing/word processing skills.

New Job Resource
The Delaware Division of Libraries has developed a new resource, Job Center@Delaware Libraries. Through this program, job seekers and career changers now have access to a full range of employment services. Each Job Center is designed to empower users by assisting them in finding information that they need and in developing skills that are essential to securing employment.
Those who register at the Job Center will have the option to complete a self-directed assessment that can guide them toward the types of jobs that best match their skills and interests. They will also get an email address, if needed, and learn basic computer skills, how to search online databases, and how to create a resume, write a cover letter, and prepare of interviews. Help is also available for those who wish to start a small businesses.
The fours centers are located at the Wilmington Institute Library, the Dover Public Library, the Georgetown Public Library, and the Seaford Library and Cultural Center. There is a specially trained Program Coordinator at each site and a team of volunteers. Each site is equipped with up-to-date hardware and software.
