Our 50th Annual Meeting & Trade Show will be held at the beautiful Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. Here are a few of our convention highlights:
EDUCATION!
Our keynoter on Sunday morning is Mark Lynch. Mark is from Australia and has been involved with credit unions there for many years. Australian credit unions lost the battle to preserve their tax-exempt status sometime ago. Mark will explore the reasons why the battle was lost, examine the devastating impact of the tax on Australian credit unions, and discuss the lessons that U.S. credit unions can learn from the Aussie experience.

Frank Diekmann, publisher of Credit Union Journal, will be our education speaker on Saturday morning. His topic — “Extra! Extra! What in the Heck Is With These Headlines?” — will cover credit union issues, mergers, hostile takeovers, charter conversions and whether the credit union business model is obsolete.
New this year — breakouts! Our three — Win, Place and Show — breakout sessions are:
Mark Lynch: “Living With Change – Boards Need to Cope With Change Too!”
Frank Diekmann: “What Do People Think of Credit Unions, If They Think of Them at All?” This session will include research and anecdotes about what folks think (and don’t think) about credit unions.
Dean Gray, Risk Manager, CUNA Mutual Group: “Security Solutions Overview.” This session will discuss physical and network security, employee dishonesty, and current fraud/scams in the area.
