LEAGUE HOSTS SECOND BOWLING EVENT

The Delaware League hosted its second bowling event on February 15 at Bowlerama in New Castle. Twelve teams of four bowlers participated. Staff and volunteers from the following credit unions were present: American Spirit, Delaware First, Eagle One, Louviers, Wilmington Police and Fire, and Wilmington Postal. Several League business partners were lane sponsors including CUNA Mutual, Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU, and Dahlink Financial. In addition, Mid-Atlantic and Dahlink Financial contributed door prizes. Sandy Schenk from the PaCUSC shared branching system also joined in the fun, along with members of the League staff and spouses.      The winning team was the Timber Splitters of Wilmington Postal FCU. Their captain, Kate Toner, bowled a 174 to win the high female bowler award. Another team member, Bob Mahan, was the high male scorer with 188. Sharon Schaeffer of Delaware First FCU and John King of Eagle One FCU won the most unusual bowler trophies (they each slid on the floor as they made their approach). Thanks to Jane Bailey for organizing the event again this year.   1
