New CU Advance Topics
New offerings were recently added to CU Advance, the online learning program created by
CUNA that designs the user's self-study path based on their personal competencies, knowledge, training, and
experience. New topics include:
1) Security Procedure Protocol - six courses that lay the foundation
in security systems, procedures, and plans:
• Basic security principles • Security systems and procedures
• Emergency and disaster preparedness • Identifying suspicious activity • Robbery:
action, reactions, and coping skills • Executing security procedures |

2) Preparing Loan Documents - five courses providing a broad understanding
of the lending process and the steps involved in preparing loan documents: • The lending process • Lending laws and
regulations • Lending interviews and application • Loan underwriting • Loan
decisions and closing |
Additionally, a print version of a CU Advance online offering was also created for CUNA's
Staff Training and Recognition (STAR) program.
Professional Member Service is a paper-based course that provides successful strategies
for building long-term member relationships with a focus on consultative selling. This course helps develop
communication skills, including professional telephone techniques, as well as resolve conflicts and handle complaints.
